Hi! A Joule is the unit of energy and Hertz is the unit for frequency. The relationship between them is not necessarily the relationship you indicated; Energy is equal to Planck's constant multiplied by frequency.

No, Hz measures frequency; an alternate way to write the unit Hz is seconds^(-1). Joules measures energy and its SI units are kg*meters^2*seconds^(-2).

1 Hz can also be thought of as 1 cycle per second, which we write as s^-1. A joule is kg*m^2/s^2. This can be confusing because when we use the equation E = hv, h has units J * s and frequency has units 1/s. This cancels out to leave just joules which is the units for energy.

Hz is actually equal to s^-1 and used for frequency! One J is actually equal to kg.m^2.s^-2 via our EQ sheet provided by Dr. Lavelle!

A Hz is a unit of frequency. A Hz is s^-1. A J is a Joule and is the standard unit for Energy. They are not the same thing, but you can go from Hz to J by using the equation E=hv.

1 Hz is not equal to 1 Joule because they are not SI units of the same thing. Hz measures frequency, whereas J measures energy.
