Question 12 MT1

Postby Lily Cornett 1H » Thu Nov 07, 2024 11:04 pm

Hi! I was just curious as to why the electron configuration of Co3+ was [Ar] 3d^6 and not Fe^3+?

Look at the electron configurations I covered in class for iron and cobalt.

If it was iron, then [Ar] 3d6 would be Fe2+.
