I'm having trouble finding the element symbol, given the excited state. How could I find the element symbol?

With problems like this, I just count how many electrons there are and look for the element with that amount of electrons.
For this question, 1s^2 2s^2 2p^3 3s^1 has 8 electrons, the element that has 8 electrons is Oxygen.
For this question, 1s^2 2s^2 2p^3 3s^1 has 8 electrons, the element that has 8 electrons is Oxygen.
