ground state for midterm 2

For the topics on midterm 2, why do we need to know how to find the ground state electron configuration? Does that have to be applied to anything we have to do on the midterm?

I don't think so, but I think it'd be useful to know. If anything just look at the Outline 2 periodicity bullets and Outline 3. That's what you for sure need to know.
