Wave-like nature of Electrons?

Can you explain the wave-particle duality of electrons and how this phenomenon is demonstrated in experiments? Specifically, how do experiments highlight the wave-like nature of electrons, and how does the photoelectric effect provide evidence for the particle-like behavior of electrons?

Both the photoelectric experiment and the double-slit experiment proved the dual properties of electrons as both waves and particles. In the double split experiment the electron exhibited diffraction, a property of light waves. In the photoelectric experiment, the electron exhibited qualities of a particles with a discrete amount of energy.
