Titanium electron configuration

Postby Jasmine Sanchez 1K » Thu Dec 07, 2023 11:28 pm

Why do we use Argon as the noble gas to write the electron configuration for titanium if the noble gas before titanium is xenon?

The noble gas before titanium is argon (Ar) , so the electron configuration would be [Ar] 3d^2 4s^2 . You might be confusing titianium (Ti) with thallium (TI), in which case you would start with Xenon.
