configuration for silver

Postby Eugene Chung 3F » Sun May 06, 2018 1:40 pm

I wrote 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6, 3s^2, 3p^6, 3d^10, 4s^2, 4p^6, 4d^9, 5s^2 since we fill s orbital first and then fill d orbital then we switch those two. But the solution says 4d^10, 5s^1.

WHICH IS CORRECT?

I believe silver's electron configuration is similar to the exception for Copper which is why it would be [KR] 4d^10 5s^1
