Does polarity affect electron configuration?

No it doesn't. Electron configurations describe atoms and their specific electron structure, while polarity is much more relevant with molecules their shapes and lewis diagrams.

no and polarity i think is more closely related on the topics of solubility

Electron configurations only show the total number of electrons in a single element. Polarity is unrelated to this.

Electron configurations tell us how many electrons there in total and how many there are in each orbital. Therefore, polarity does not play a factor in determining an atom's electron configuration.
