### How to write P and D Orbitals

So when you're writing out the electron configuration for an element such as Bromine would you write this as $1s^{2} 2s^{2} 2p^{6} 3s^{2} 3p^{6} 3d^{10} 4s^{2} 4p^{5}$ or would you switch the 3d^{10} and 4s^{2} orbitals. I am not sure when to write the d orbital before the s or if I should always write it this way.

### Re: How to write P and D Orbitals

This is the correct way to write it because the 4s orbital has higher energy than the 3d orbital it should be written after.
