Clarification on electron configuration

Postby Lilyana Villa 1J » Sun Oct 20, 2019 11:01 pm

In his lecture, Lavelle said we only needed to know the electron configurations of atoms in a certain blocks. I know he said s-block and p-block, but I don't know how many rows of the d-block he said we are supposed to know. Does anyone remember?

He said that we would focus on the first row of the d-block (from Scandium to Zinc).

I am pretty sure we just have to know the first row for the d-block.

We will only have to know the first row of d-block along with s and p.

Lavelle stated that the only ones that are important for Chem 14A are the s-block, the p-block, and the 1st row of the d-block.

i noticed in some HW questions, it includes more than just first row of d-block. So, it might be helpful to make sure you understand how to do it.
