Drawing Orbitals and Electron Spins
When a question asks to write the electron configuration, it is typically asking for just the subshells and the number of electrons within the subshell. I was wondering under what context would we also have to draw out the orbitals and arrows representing the electron spins: Would the question just ask directly to sketch these? I don't think I've come across a question like that. I know for 1E.21 & 23, I drew them to see how many unpaired electrons there were, but I was wondering if there was a type of electron configuration that would ask to sketch the electron spins.

Re: Drawing Orbitals and Electron Spins
That kind of detail isnt really necessary, so only draw it out if the question specifically asks for it.
Re: Drawing Orbitals and Electron Spins
Unless it asks for the spin, I would just write the configuration with [noble gas] sub shells after. However, drawing out the spins and the levels may help to visualize.
