Re: Aufbau vs Hunds
The Aufbau principle states that lower energy orbitals fill before higher energy orbitals. Hund's Rule states that one electron goes into each orbital until all of them are half full before pairing up.

Re: Aufbau vs Hunds
Aufbau's principle shows the order in which orbitals should be filled while Hund's rule describes that every orbital in a subshell should be occupied with one electron before any one orbital is doubly occupied, and all electrons in singly occupied orbitals have the same spin.
Re: Aufbau vs Hunds
Hund's Rule states that due to electron/electron repulsion, orbitals must be occupied by one electron before they can be occupied by a second electron.
The Aufbau Principle states that electrons occupy lower energy orbitals before higher energy orbitals.

Afbau states that the lower energy levels must be occupied before the higher ones can be filled and Hund’s rule states that the orbitals must be filled with one electron before they can be paired.

Re: Aufbau vs Hunds
Aufbau Principle is the building-up principle. You need to occupy the lowest energy level before going higher in energy. We always want the lowest energy electron configuration.

Re: Aufbau vs Hunds
The Aufbau principle is that electrons need to first occupy the lower energy levels before filling higher energy ones- it literally means "build-up" in German! Hund's rule says that the orbitals need to have one electron first before they can be paired up with another electron.
