What makes the electrons having l=1 better at shielding than electrons having l=2?

Hello! The lower the l, the closer the electron is to the nucleus. When an electron is closer to the nucleus, it interacts with the positive charge more, therefore reducing the positive charge that can penetrate an interact with outer electrons.
