Ground State Meaning

Postby Karen Harrison 1L » Tue Oct 19, 2021 11:51 pm

Hello,
Can someone explain what the meaning of a ground-state atom is? I know that it has to do with electron configuration and orbitals, but I would like more insight on this topic. Thanks!

The meaning of a ground-state atom (or molecule) is the lowest possible energy (stable state) of the electrons in an atom (or molecule).
I'll mention this again in class.
