Excited electron states on Midterm 1?

Postby Maggie Black 1C » Thu Oct 21, 2021 7:48 pm

Is Midterm 1 going to cover the excited electron configurations? I know that we had HW problems on it through Achieve but I don't really remember going over it in class.

Does anyone know whether or not this is included in the midterm material, and if so, which lecture focused on this topic?

Thanks!

I do not think so, he stated that we would only need to know electron configuration for neutral atoms. So, don't worry about excited electron configurations!

I believe that we are just covering the contents he taught last three weeks, so probably no.

I think the last couple of problems on the homework will not be on this midterm because we learned that material this week (week 4) and the midterms material only goes up to what we discussed from week 3.

No, because we did not cover that material until this week, and the material on the midterm only goes up to what was covered in lecture last friday.
