Spin electrons

Postby Hunter Rosales 2C » Fri Nov 01, 2024 10:03 pm

In our discussion we were able to briefly go over the topic of spin electrons. I think the difference between the down and up sides of electrons make enough sense however, what happens if both meet in the same orbital? Does it just seize to never exist or does the magnetic property increase?

Hi! Each orbital should contain one up and one down spin e-, and it simply is determined by how many electrons an atom has. The electrons are not actually "spinning" but are engaging in "spin" which is a form of angular movement. Hope this helps!
