Diagonal Relationships- 2.73

Does all that a diagonal relationship means that the two elements that share the relationship have similar properties, or does it imply something else as well?

They have similar properties.

The book used the example that a diagnoal relationship can include similar properties in size, due to periodicity trends (increasing down a period and up a group)
