Electron Affinity

Can someone explain how the electron affinity of noble gases work relative to its column and even those of the column above and below it?

In general, since the noble gases already have stable electron structures, they do not 'want' another electron; thus, their electron affinities are always positive. Since the electron affinity is positive, it requires energy to push an extra electron onto the stable core of a noble gas.

I'm not entirely sure on this part as I couldn't find electron affinity values for them, but I think that the EA for noble gases, like for all groups (columns), becomes more negative as you move up. Thus, Helium would take less energy to push an electron onto it than Neon or Argon.
