does ionization energy increase or decrease with mass?

Atomic number, which correlates with atomic mass increases from left to right, top to bottom. Ionization energy increases from left to right, bottom to top. Hope this helps.

Are you talking about the first ionization energy?
if it is, then the first ionization energy increases across the period and decreases down the group

Reasons for that is because of
1. proton numbers which determine the nuclear attraction
2. number of shells which determined by the number of electrons.( this is the shielding effect)
