Homework

Postby annaspain » Tue Oct 16, 2018 5:12 pm

Are we expected to include questions from each section of the unit (in this case, sections 1A-1F) on the homework even if the topics haven't yet been covered in lecture?

Nope! You can choose any seven questions from the section for homework.

I think the seven problems can come from any of the sections. For example, in my homework this week I chose to do only problems from 1D. It does not matter that we have not covered everything from this section in lecture yet.

Make sure you talk to your TA, but any 7 problems from outline 2 should be fine!

It does help to do problems outside of what we have covered so far in the case of the problem sets due on a non-testing week because it helps prepare for future topics that levelle covers in lecture.

I normally do problems from the topics we cover that week. i.e. quantum numbers since we just went over that and then a review question from the previous section like a Heisenberg problem.

I think this is individual to the person. As long as you do 7 problems you should get full credit, however it may be more helpful to work on the sections you need the most help with

We will probably start homework from chapter 2 after week 4, seeing how the topic after is related to bonding.
