I think the seven problems can come from any of the sections. For example, in my homework this week I chose to do only problems from 1D. It does not matter that we have not covered everything from this section in lecture yet.

It does help to do problems outside of what we have covered so far in the case of the problem sets due on a non-testing week because it helps prepare for future topics that levelle covers in lecture.

I normally do problems from the topics we cover that week. i.e. quantum numbers since we just went over that and then a review question from the previous section like a Heisenberg problem.

I think this is individual to the person. As long as you do 7 problems you should get full credit, however it may be more helpful to work on the sections you need the most help with

We will probably start homework from chapter 2 after week 4, seeing how the topic after is related to bonding.
