Bond Lenghts

How can you tell which molecules have a greater bond length without having its Lewis structure? I know when you have two ions you look for polarizability but what about when you have multiple elements involved?

I think you would have to draw the Lewis structure to figure it out.

This would require you to draw the lewis structures and to calculate the formal charge. This way you can take a look and see if the structure has resonance. It is tough to know the exact bond lengths though without doing experiments.

The Lewis Structure would be critical in the process of finding out the bond lengths.

Lavelle explained a bit more on the lengths and strengths of the bonds in class on Wednesday. I would ask him if you still have any doubts.

You would need the lewis structure before giving an informed answer about the length of the bonds between atoms of certain elements.

You would need to draw the Lewis structure to determine which molecules have a greater bond length.

do we need to know how to draw lewis structures for our test over the quantum world?
I would need to brush up on that (even though it is literally so simple haha)
