Will we need to know how to calculate/do calculation with electron affinity on the midterm or just know the trends that periodic table follows(ie. which part of the table has the highest and lowest electron affinity)
I don't believe we have to do calculations however I'm not 100% sure. What he will most likely do is present us with several elements and ask which one has the highest or lowest electron affinity. So basically...interpreting/applying your knowledge of periodic trends.
While I am also a student and cannot know for sure, I think it is safe to assume that anything taught in class is fair game on the test. Personally, I find it important to study it simply to have it in your memory, never hurts to know the periodic table a bit better.
