The periodic trend is that effective nuclear charge increases across a period (left to right) and up a group. So generally the elements towards the top right have the most effective nuclear charge.

Effective nuclear charge increases across a period because the number of protons is increasing but the the number of shielding electrons stays the same. I'm not sure if there is a trend going down a group since the number of protons is increasing, but so is the number of shielding electrons.

Hello! The trend for effective nuclear charge on a periodic table is that it increases from left to right of the table, however, it decreases down a group.
