What topics will we have to know for Midterm 1?

Lacking specifics, my TA informed me that if we generally look at the outline, we should know which areas to roughly study. Also, my TA said that the lecture right before the midterm will not be included in the midterm. Professor should also be sending out an email soon regarding the exam.

In preparation for the midterm, especially with one week left, I would suggest looking at the textbook problems outlined on the syllabus. I've heard that they really help with understanding the type of questions that would appear on his tests!

He announced in class today that the first midterm will be on everything we learned from the beginning of class up until 1 week before the midterm date. If you had lecture today and your midterm is Friday the 22nd, you have covered all the material that will be on the test.

As others have stated, all material from Week 0-Week 3. A good "study guide" would be the Learning Outcomes on Professor Lavelle's Chem14A website. We covered Outline 1 and 2 for content, and on the actual pages of those links, there are things that you should be able to do. I will be using it as a guide/checklist of what I need to study and what I already know for the upcoming midterm. Also, I believe more information will be sent out regarding the midterm in the next couple of days prior to the midterm.

Like everyone's been saying, everything as of last Friday will be on the midterm. I believe Lavelle just sent out an email saying specifically everything covered through section 1E in the textbook.
