Excited states
How do you determine an electron's excited state? Does is have more or fewer electrons?
Re: Excited states
Hello! Excited states would apply to electrons within the atom. You would need to look at the energy state it is in. This is because ones that are in an excited state occupy higher energy levels as it absorbs energy.
Re: Excited states
Hi, when in an excited state, the energy level of an electron will be higher than it would be in its ground state. This, however, shouldn’t change the number of electrons.

Re: Excited states
An electron's excited state happens when the electron absorbs energy and moves to a different energy level.
