Wave Properties of Electrons
Can someone help me understand how electrons passing through crystals also show diffraction? And how does that prove that elections must have wave-like properties?

Re: Wave Properties of Electrons
X-Rays show diffraction as they pass through a crystal, because electrons do the same you can relate them to a wave such as x-rays.

To add to that, diffraction occurs because of the different wavelengths of the waves passing through the crystal. Since electrons passing through a crystal show diffraction, this proves that instead of being a uniform stream of energy, electrons behave like waves.

Does that mean that electrons have different wavelengths? How would you find the wavelength or frequency of an electron?

Electrons would have different wavelengths depending on their momentum. The faster the electron is traveling, the more momentum it has, and the lower the wavelength it has.
