De Broglie Formula vs. Speed of Light Formula
How do you know when to use the De Broglie formula versus the speed of light formula?

Re: De Broglie Formula vs. Speed of Light Formula
De Broglie is only used when the question explicitly says use the de Broglie equation to find whatever it is they are asking.

In the case of Question 3C on Test 2, how do we know when to used the De Broglie equation then?

Re: De Broglie Formula vs. Speed of Light Formula
De Broglie is used when the mass of some particle is involved. (mass of an electron, proton, neutron...etc) The speed of light formula refers to a photon.

the speed of light formula is only used on wavelengths in the electromagnetic radiation spectrum, you can't use it when particle has mass (you have to use de broglie for that).

Thanks everyone! I realized that the question involves copper metal, which has resting mass, so we have to use the De Broglie Formula.
