Energy levels

Postby Clarice Chui 2C » Sun Oct 13, 2019 10:18 pm

In reference to electrons being excited and jumping to higher energy levels, is there a specific number of levels each element has? Or is the number of energy levels infinite?

In my understanding, the number of energy levels are infinite.

Every atom has an infinite amount of energy levels

For my understanding as well, there is an infinte number of energy levels but you must remember that they are always integers.

The energy levels are infinite. What separates the elements is that specific amounts of energy are required for different atoms to absorb or emit photons.
