### Equations for Test

What equations relevant to the quantum unit will be given on a test? Will we have to memorize the Schroedinger Equation, etc.?

I Believe that all equations needed will be given to you on the test (correct me if I'm wrong). You just need to know when to use what equation depending on the givens and modify it for it to solve the unknown!

The main two will be

Ephoton = planck's constant * frequency

speed of light = wavelength * frequency

However, I think it will be important to know some derivations of these equations like

Ephoton = (planck's constant * speed of light) / (wavelength)

Like someone said above, the equations should be given, but it's still helpful to have them memorized.

Similar to the first test we had, I assume there will be a formula sheet. But understanding the equations and what they mean is probably helpful.

You probably need to know the wavelength times frequency = speed of light equation, the E= hv equation, the Schrodinger equation, and the photoelectric effect equation with kinetic energy, the energy absorbed and the work function.

All equations will be provided but it will be helpful to familiarize yourself with problems dealing with these equations and the constants involved, such as Planck's constant, the mass of protons, neutrons, electrons, etc.
