Yes! When electrons have opposite spin, they are paired and thus the orbital is more balanced and stable. Additionally, if electrons have parallel spin, they are unpaired and ready to bond with other elements. The reason for this is the Aufbau Principle or Building Up principle, in which we fill up each orbital with one spin-up electron before adding the spin-down electrons.
