Mass of electron in 1B.15

Postby zfinn » Fri Oct 25, 2019 2:26 pm

In homework problem 1B.15 (from the quantum section) were we expected to know the mass of the electron? Or is it okay to look that info up/will it be provided on a constants sheet for the test? Thanks so much!

No, we weren't suppose to know the mass of electron. You can look it up. We would be provided this information on the test.

The mass of an electron is a constant, and like the other constants we use in chemistry, it will be provided on tests. The mass of an electron is 9.109x10^-31kg.

The mass of the electron is 9.1095x10-31 kg. This value will be given to you on the reference sheet for the test so don't worry about it!
