Re: Conversions [ENDORSED]
1 eV= 1.602x10^-19 J
So the energy in joules E(J) is equal to the energy in electron-volts E(eV) times 1.602x10^-19:
E(J) = E(eV) × 1.602176565x10^-19
So the energy in joules E(J) is equal to the energy in electron-volts E(eV) times 1.602x10^-19:
E(J) = E(eV) × 1.602176565x10^-19

Re: Conversions
Will we get this conversion, if needed, on the sheet of paper for the quiz, or do we have to memorize this?

Re: Conversions
This conversion would be provided if you needed it. It's on the constants and equations sheet on the Chem 14A website.

Re: Conversions
On the test, does it matter what units we provide our answers in as long as they are correct?
