Grading System
Does anyone know how Lavelle's grading system works? I looked at the syllabus and sapling and chemistry community are both 50 points total, midterms are 110 points each, and the final is 180 points. Under the grading, it says 50% or higher is required to pass with a C- or higher. Does that mean there's a curve for the class?
Re: Grading System
If 50% or higher is required to pass with a C- or higher.
Then to pass the class is not curved.
Then to pass the class is not curved.

Re: Grading System
I think in maybe the first lecture or in discussion they said that there is no curve.

Re: Grading System
Only a 50% is needed to pass with a C- or higher so I would assume the course is not curved because of this gracious policy.

Re: Grading System
Hi, I do not think there is a curve but if there is it will only help your grade never lower your grade to encourage students to work together.

I don't think there's going to be a curve, but the C- policy just means if you get above a 50% you will get at least a C-.

Re: Grading System
from people i've talked to the getting a 50% is a c- until like 73% and then it's a normal grading scale
