Energy of Electrons

Postby Jaclyn Schwartz 1I » Sun Nov 01, 2020 11:25 pm

How would I find the energy of an electron based on the wavelength? This is based on question 13 of sapling

To find the energy of an electron, you have to use de Broglie's equation and plug in Planck's constant, the given wavelength, and the mass of the electron to find v. Then use E=1/2 mv2 to find the energy. As a note, you can't use E=hν because that's for calculating the energy of a photon. Hope this helps!
