Bond energies

Postby Maldonado3K » Sun Nov 05, 2017 11:39 pm

I was reading the book, specifically about average bond dissociation energies (kJ-mol"1) and was wondering if anyone could please give me a break down of what there numbers really mean and when we would have to apply them. Thank you.

Hi there,

Bond dissociation energies tell us how much energy it takes to both break and form a bond, a topic that will be covered in depth in 14B.

Hope this helps.
