What is the difference between copper(I) ion and copper(II) ion?

As anions, copper II loses one more electron than copper I since their forms are Cu2+ and Cu1+, respectively.

Their charges are different - Copper(I) has a charge of +1 while Copper(II) has a charge of +2.
