Chemical Bonds

Which bonds are longer, ionic or covalent? Or is the comparison not relevant?

Covenant bonds would be the longer of these two bonds because the shorter the bond length, the stronger the bond. Therefore because ionic bonds are stronger, they are shorter.

Yes, I agree that ionic bonds would be shorter. Generally, we care more about the bond lengths among covalent bonds because there is more variation among the lengths of covalent bonds. For instance, in covalent structures there are single, double, and triple bonds that can form, with single being the longest and triple being the shortest.

Covalent bonds are longer because they are weaker than ionic bonds (ionic would be shorter).
