Partial Charges Question

Postby hanna_maillard3B » Sun Nov 11, 2018 6:15 pm

So the only factor that contributes to partial charges is difference in electronegativity correct ? And the partial charges then contribute to the bond being polar covalent ?

Yes, you are correct. However, if the difference in electronegativity is over 2, you should consider the bond to be ionic.
