general question about polarity of bonds

Postby Leslie Cheng 4B » Wed Nov 14, 2018 9:55 pm

I'm not sure if this is the right section to post in, but I was wondering if the multiplicity of bonds affects polarity? For example, would a double bond between two elements have a different polarity than a single bond between the same two elements?

If the molecule is polar, then yes, triple and double bonds have more polarity than a single bond. Also, a triple bond has more polarity than a double bound, if you were to compare the two together. Hope this helps!
