What topic are we on?

Postby Kellylin_4D » Wed Oct 23, 2019 4:24 pm

For week 4's homework, do we still do Quantum questions, or did we move onto questions from the new unit, since we just started on it.

I personally did quantum world questions but I haven't asked any TA or anything. The syllabus says "Select assigned homework problems from recently covered material." and the quantum world is recently covered so I'm sure it's fine!

I think this week was more focused on building upon prior concepts in the Quantum World unit as we have barely delved into the new unit so I would do my homework on the questions in Outline 2! However, if you'd like to move ahead I'm sure the questions on Outline 3 are fair game as well.

I think you could do problems from either or both topics and be fine since the last topic we covered Monday was still under the Quantum world and today we started the new unit.

My TA confirmed that we can do homework problems from both sections this week.

It is probably good to do quantum world problems because we only just started the new unit. There will be plenty of time to do bonding problems.

We're on Chemical Bonds. Lavelle told us that weekly homework should consist of questions that are related to the topic he most recently taught.

Based on Dr. Lavelle's last email 2 weeks ago he said that as we transition from fundamentals to quantum, that transition week's homework could be from either units. I do not believe that just because he taught chemical bonds today in class that we have to turn in chemical bonds hw since people in Tuesday discussion sections hadn't been taught that by the time of their class.

I'm pretty sure that you will be fine to submit problems from either quantum or chemical bonding section, or both.

Because it's a transition week you can either turn in homework on either Quantum or Chemical bonds

I did the problems from the Quantum World section because the syllabus says that the section covers electron configuration which we went over this week.

Just do quantum questions since the syllabus says to do recently covered material.
