Rotating atoms

I understand why sigma bonds still allow the molecule to be fluid and the atoms connected to rotate, and that a pi bond does not allow atoms to rotate, but what is the benefit of rotation? Why do molecules need to rotate? Do they need to rotate? What does rotation allow for? As you can tell I am struggling to grasp this concept :(

If I am not wrong, the benefit of rotation is that it enables "molecule" to become any shape necessary and into any formation. Molecules don't necessarily have to rotate as rotation is not allowed by pi bonds.

While rotation is an intrinsic property of molecules due to their thermal energy, its significance varies depending on the molecular structure and environment. In certain cases, rigid structures or steric hindrance might limit the freedom of rotation around specific bonds. In contrast, other molecules might have more flexibility to rotate freely.
