Visualization of bonds

Postby Grayson Lockwood 2B » Tue Jan 16, 2024 11:09 pm

Whilst the diagrams in the textbook of sigma and pi bonds are helpful, I am wondering if anybody who is a visual learner has any other tips or tricks that may differ from the visual presentations in class or text that help them visualize not only sigma and pi bonds, but the reasoning of the path of the electrons as well.

What I do to differentiate them is: pi bonds are horizontal and long, and if you put 2 next to one another, you basically get two lines, which kinda looks like the symbol pi π.
