1. How many sigma and how many pi bonds are present in H3CCHCHCH2OH?
What exactly are sigma and pi bonds?

This will not be on the quiz because we did not cover it in lecture. Many of the questions on the quiz preparation are from Chapter 4, and we are to skip them.

Pi bonds are double bonds and Sigma bonds are single bonds - if you draw out that compound, then there will be 12 sigma bonds (it includes the single bond within the double bond), and 1 pi bond
