hybridization and sigma and pi bonds

Postby Guzman_1J » Fri Dec 06, 2019 1:06 am

How would the description of a triple bond between C(sp3 hybridization) and N(sp hybridization) be described? Like the bond between C and H can be described as sigma(Csp3, Hs), would the bond between C and N then be described as just a pi bond (pi(Csp3, Nsp), or would I have to include that it also has sigma bonds, and if so how is it written?

The triple bond between C and N has one sigma bond and two pi bonds.
The sigma bond is written as sigma(Chybridization,Nhybridization)
Then you will have two pi bonds are written as pi(C2p,N2p)
