Why do pi bonds only have p hybridization and not spx?

Pi bonds only form between unhybridized p orbitals. Hybridization explains the orbitals that atoms use to form single bonds.

Pi bonds do not use hybridization. They are formed by overlapping p-orbitals.

Pi bonds only have p hybridization and not spx because they can only form with p orbitals.
