double bonds
How should I know when to do a double bond v a single bond? I don't know why it is better to draw one as compared to another.

Hi! To decide between single and double bonds, count the total valence electrons and arrange them to satisfy the octet for each atom. If a single bond leaves atoms without a full octet or if there are extra electrons, then do a double bond to get a full octet.
