In 2A.25 of the textbook problems, does it matter which order you put the lewis structure of each atom in? For example, the answer key says Thallium Chloride is order Cl Tl Cl Cl with the lewis structure for each, would it be incorrect to write it as Tl Cl Cl Cl?

Hi,

The charges should be spread out as much as possible just due to like-charge repulsion so I wouldn’t write it as Tl Cl Cl Cl just because that’s unlikely to actually occur.
