How do you know that ammonium is NH4? Do we need to know this for the midterm?

Ammonium is a common polyatomic ion with the chemical formula of NH4+. Polyatomic ions like ammonium, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, and more are usually memorized. We will likely need to know it for the midterm as it is a common ion.
Hope this helps!
