For question 39, it asks to draw the lewis structure for ammonium chloride, potassium phosphide, and sodium hypochlorite. I looked in the solutions manual and the lewis structure for all of them were drawn separately (ex: phosphorus is surrounded by potassium but they're not bonded together). Could someone please explain why they are drawn differently?

I believe they are written different than the "normal" Lewis structures because all the compounds listed are ionic, so their structures look a little different from that of a compound consisting of covalent bonds. Hope this helps!
