When making a Lewis Structure of a radical, how would I know which atom I would put the free electron?

I think its best to place the electron on the most electronegative element, which would make the formal charge calculated to zero for the overall molecule.

All the midterm Lewis structures came from the homework questions.

Give an octet to the atoms with higher electronegativity and less than an octet (radical) on the atom with lower electronegativity.
See homework questions illustrating this.
